Hello Artistic Pursuit community members!  Thanks for all of the awesome posts and comments during our first month with the new site!

Many of you are posting some outstanding original works in the Blogs section of the site, which is great!  The poetry and short story excerpts are both exciting and entertaining to read, as well as the general blog entries.

I wanted to let you know that you can get additional exposure for your original works by posting them in the Stories section.

As we continue to grow the community, the Stories section is where we will officially evaluate works for consideration in Top Picks.  This is also where guest editors, writers and publishers will go to examine and evaluate works and provide comments.

The Blogs section is a great place to do many things, and I encourage you to continue publishing drafts of original works here; however, you may also want to publish edited or finished products to the Stories section to maximize exposure.

Tonight is the night my community picked to celebrate Halloween and send the kids out trick-or-treating.  In between handing out candy, I posted a few pictures to the Gallery.  Take a look.  It's a fun night!

I'm very excited about the upgraded version of Artistic Pursuit.  It's hard to believe that we've been working on this web community for almost 2 years now.  It took a little over a year to get the original Beta site developed, and the updated site took another 8 months to complete.  The business model has changed slightly, but our mission has stayed the same throughout:  To become the most recognized destination for artists and fans to connect worldwide.

Our goal is to provide a place for people in the various "art worlds" - music, film/video, art, games, photography and more - to meet and talk about their projects, dreams and desires.  We want to be a fun place to hang out, as well as a place to collaborate and promote all kinds of artistic pursuits.

Our business is constantly evolving, and the website is only the beginning.  We will have an eMagazine available soon to provide useful information and additional promotion opportunities, and we anticipate having several contests for users to participate in throughout the year.  Once the foundation of the community is firmly established, we also hope to expand our business model to include producing, recording, promoting and publishing works from members in the Artistic Pursuit community.

We hope you like the new site, and we look forward to building an even greater relationship with you all as we continue to grow!
